Tiny Room in Purgatory

Tiny roomMy girlfriend and I are looking to buy a place of our own at the moment. And while usually I dislike talking or writing about real estate, I had to share with you this little gem she discovered yesterday: ‘Too Good to Be True.’

Let’s look at this paragon of the advertising art for just a moment. Everything about it screams care and attention to detail. Linger on the way it’s all written in capitals, so it feels like the agent is shouting at you. Delight in the spelling: “TO GOOD TO BE TRUE” … “AVAILBALE FOR INSPECTION”. Wonder at the tempting adjectives and the way they work together: “IMPRESSIVE” and “LIVEABLE”. And then, the piece de resistance, the photo … yes, that is the only photo. But don’t despair, you can click on it to get a larger view and revel in the glorious detail of the image!

I don’t know about you, but I’m reaching for my chequebook as we speak …

Oh, I’ve come over all weak t the knees. Are those skirting boards that I’m seeing there? Is there some hint of a light around the corner? And that carpet… surely it’s not grey. OMG.
Seriously, if that’s the best representation they’ve got, I REALLY REALLY REALLY think you should go look at this place and tell us how truly awful it is…

I’ve redecorated it for you (which has increased the value of the home, quite significantly, I might add). You better scoop up this offer while you can.
It’s the deal of a lifetime

    That is fantastic!
And, I might add, you have divined the exact style of decorating that is most popular in Glebe (it’s an inner city suburb near Sydney University). Brilliant!!
Right, I really have to go look at this place this weekend and bring back further photographic evidence..

Have you ever seen Manos the Hands of Fate? It’s arguably the second worst movie I have ever seen.

Judging by my brief Google of the film, it’s a good thing I haven’t. OK, I’ll bite: the worst movie you’ve ever seen?

jedimacfan’s decor might interest the Real Estate agents – you should take them a snap!
Of course, League of Gentlemen is a little too tasteful for such an abode. The other poster should be… Shriek of the Mutilated

Pete, if you’re searching for the exact right Christmas present for me…

the worst movie I have ever seen is “Penetration Angst”. It’s about a woman with a vagina that eats people. It’s got it all, too. Siamese twins, action, adventure, murder, blood, love, sex, guns… Sometimes all in the same scene!
    Worst. Movie. Ever.

I only saw it by accident I swear. A friend of mine downloads movies off the net and he downloaded PA because he thought it was a porn film. (Which one coudl argue that it is.)
He started watching it when I was at his place and it was just…so..horrible that I could not pulll my eyes away from the screen. I watched the whole thing, laughing my ass off because it is SO BAD.
But you are in luck because it was a PAL DVD! You can order it!

Oh, I think you’re being harsh – getting to keep thecase sonds pretty cool. I hate it when you buy the DVD and they come around the next day and take the case.

‘Shriek of the Mutilated’ os one of those films that’s so bad that it’s good. Not just plain bad. When you finally get to see the monster it is so hilarious that I spewed milk up through my nose. And then there is the leg….

Now I want to see this movie.
There is no way it is worse than Penetration Angst, and if I must, I will rip it and upload it to my server for your viewing pleasure just to prove it.
