I don’t want to start a huge argument here, but seriously…

I have seen these billboards pop up all over my home town (Brisbane, Australia- pretty small and insignificant compared to cities over in the states) and shudder to think of all the money that these mugs have spent on all their advertising (I read somewhere $100 mill plus).

I’d also like to say, I am a Christian. I believe in Jesus and God and all that. If these guys were really concerned about the welfare of people, they should have sent that $100 mill over to some poor African nation and show some LOVE to the poor and the needy, rather than plastering the western world with billboards that we can all (Christians, Muslims and Atheists alike) scoff at as we drive past.

    Makes me sad… 🙁 Ian

Hear hear Ian. If the religious would spend more time actually following some of the basic tenets of their faiths – which, last I checked, are supposed to be about love and charity for your fellow human beings – rather than evangelising and going off on weird intolerant hypocritical super-conservative ‘us versus them’ moral high ground tangents, I’d have more respect for the whole shebang. Which is why I think those basic concepts are what the human race should concentrate on – without the religious trappings.

    Thanks for commenting!
